A Community Working Toward Food Security

Located in Las Vegas’ Historic Westside, Obodo Collective works to address food insecurity by providing fresh food and creating opportunities for education, environmental awareness, and community connection. The organization also accepts EBT, helping eligible residents access food.
The fundraising effort will help keep Obodo Collective’s doors open, expand its capacity to grow fresh food, and create more opportunities for children to learn about ecology, ecosystems, and sustainable food production.
Beyond food access, the initiative seeks to strengthen a community space where families and neighbors can gather, learn, and build connections.

Turning Support Into Lasting Improvements

The collaboration aims to bring practical improvements to Obodo Collective’s property, including:🌻New infrastructure: A storage shed to support daily operations.
Community gathering spaces: Additional shade, tables, and chairs for events and educational activities.
🌻Sustainable features: Solar lighting and improved irrigation.
🌻Greener spaces: Tree planting to enhance the property and support food-growing activities.
🌻Environmental education: A proposed circular fish pond to demonstrate ecological relationships and sustainable systems.
Final improvements will depend on available resources and project feasibility. Much of the financial support raised will be unrestricted, allowing Obodo Collective to direct funds toward its most pressing community needs.

Collective Action, Lasting Impact

The Atlas Project cohort brings together 29 leaders united by a shared goal: helping Obodo Collective expand its capacity and continue serving the Historic Westside.
By combining fundraising with hands-on improvements, the collaboration demonstrates how people, resources, and shared purpose can support a community organization and strengthen the services it provides.
